A conversation that comes up frequently is whether or not meditation can aid our intuition—that sense of “just knowing” that comes into play when making hard decisions, contemplating our own desires, reading, understanding, and trusting other people, and even…perhaps…predicting what the future holds. This podcast explores where in Buddhist meditation practices the experience of intuitive knowing can be heightened and utilized to navigate the present moment with more emotional and perceptual awareness, perhaps unlocking a kind of knowing that lies underneath our intellect and logic.
At the 21-minute mark, we practice a kind of open awareness which I call “Leaning Back In Awareness” (a phrase from my most recent book Confidence) to ask ourselves a question for which an evolving—rather than fixated—sense of intuition might help us decide how to proceed with whatever situation or challenge lies in front of us.
